Paula Bell is a force of nature, a third-degree black belt, and the owner of Paula A. Bell Consulting.
She founded her company to help people find their purpose. She uses martial arts concepts to help them get results by addressing the mind, body, and soul.
"The mind component is all about life coaching, the body is my Ninja P Fitness segment of the business where I teach group fitness programming classes, and the soul focuses on the professional aspect of your life," says Bell.
The Brooklyn native is passionate about her work and has over 20 years of business experience. Bell is a sought-after coach, speaker, and consultant whose services include business analysis, project management, leadership, diversity and inclusion, career development, and self-development.
Bell admits she didn't always see herself as an entrepreneur.
"I fell into entrepreneurship. If you had told me when I was in my early 20s, I would be an entrepreneur; I would have laughed. But when I understood my worth and the value I bring to this world, in addition to having that spirit of entrepreneurship, I knew this is what I wanted to do."
She understands that entrepreneurship is not for everyone and sees the upside to being independent and having control of her destiny.
'There is nothing like working in your purpose. Being an entrepreneur is not for everyone, but it has definitely been liberating for me."
She can give clients expert guidance when it comes to goal setting because she knows what it feels like to begin losing sight of what you set out to do.
"In 2014, I entered a dark depression and didn't even realize I was in a depression because I was going with the flow of life. I was taking care of my kids, working, etc. However, it was at the end of 2014 that I made the decision to take time for me. I did a lot of introspection and reflection and made the decision that I needed to do something more to live the fulfilling life I desired. "
She used the lessons from that time to explore her creativity and to rebrand herself as the BA Martial Artist.
As the BA Martial Artist, Bell teaches her clients to deeply understand their why.
"A lot of times, we write goals, and some of the goals we are writing are because of other people or something we think we have to do. But sometimes, we don't even know why we want to achieve. The why is the key. It's important to understand the why," she says.
Bell is an active community member who spends her time volunteering with Hip Hope, the United Way, and many other organizations. She is a proud member of Nu Mu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
When she thinks about the path that she has taken, she has no regrets.
"I have my business because I want others to thrive and succeed. I want to be that source of inspiration, motivation, and encouragement to help others walk in their purpose and reach their personal and professional goals."
