Teresa, I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. My husband's 22-year-old son died years ago, and I've seen how devastating it is to lose a child. It seems like the natural order of the universe is turned upside down when a child dies before their parents. Thank you for being so open and honest about your grief. No doubt your words are helping others know they're not alone.

Oh Teresa, how devastating for you and Jason. Losing a child is one of the most difficult bereavements, as is losing a loved one to suicide. No one's life is ever the same after that.

When I was grieving many years ago, a friend sent me a copy of Carol Staudacher's book of short meditations, A Time to Grieve. It's not a book you have to read cover to cover. The meditations are just one or two pages long. Maybe if someone here is struggling, they will find some passage that resonates or helps them cope.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I've lost family members to suicide, but not one of my own children.

My heart goes out to both, you and your husband. Thank you for your story, and may it be helpful to someone else going through this enormous pain.

God bless you and your family, Theresa. I lost a beloved son, too! He was 41 years old and in the prime of his life. He died very suddenly on a very normal Saturday morning of some unknown

cause. Why? Why? Why? Suicide is claiming lives of too many young people. This IS tragic and unexplainable at times. Early deaths are so unfair to those left behind. The loss is forever.

It was five years in September for our family. Every single day I miss him as do his wife, son and large family. He will always be in my heart, every single moment for the balance of my life. Fortunately I do know that his wife and son are his gifts to our family. We have something you do not have. I am deeply sorry for your loss. May God give you and your family the strength He gives us to keep moving forward. He gives us this every single day. May you feel his God's light and presence always. My love to you each day...
